Energised Environments was recently interviewed to help inform the first guidance on ‘Functional Buffer Zone’ for new developments located in the vicinity of designated sites.
This guidance intends to be a guide of best practice regarding buffer zone implementation in Scotland and is aimed at stakeholders and developers who wish to create areas along sensitive sites.
There is a growing need for `Functional Buffer Zone’ across Scotland to protect sensitive sites and this guide is a first step toward a more comprehensive guidance.
This is a great initiative from Cumbernauld Living Landscape which is a partnership project led by the Scottish Wildlife Trust, North Lanarkshire Council and Forestry Commission Scotland.
