The Environment Agency issued two briefing notes last week about Medium Combustion Plant (MCP) and Specified Generators (SG). This will be of interest to operators with existing MCP/SG or looking to install MCP/SG and applies only in England.
The first note is the latest update on how the Environment Agency is preparing to permit and regulate stand-alone existing MCP between 5-50MWth and Tranche A SG. You can view and download a PDF of this briefing note here.
The second note is a revision of a previously circulated note from December 2022, and it gives details of how the Environment Agency is planning to review permit conditions relating to existing MCP 5-50MWth permitted at industrial Emission Directive Installations already regulated by the Environment Agency.
